Dango

I went to the Japanese Festival this weekend and I was looking forward in trying  dango, but unfortunately they did not have it. Dango is a Japanese dumpling made from rice flour. The interesting thing about dango is that there are a variety of dango that are usually named after the various seasonings served on or with it:
  • Anko: it is known as a sweetened red bean paste. use on rare occasions
  • An-dango is the most popular flavor in Japan
  • Borchan Dango: This Dango has 3 colors. One is red beans, the second by eggs and the third by green tea. This is often seen in Japanese Anime
  • Chichi dango: slightly sweet  that is eaten as a desert
  • Goma: sesame seeds and it is both sweet and salty
  • kinako: toasted soy flour
  • Kushi dango: dangos held by a skewer
  • Mitarashi: is a syrup made from soy sauce, sugar, and starch.
  • Nori: dried and seasoned seaweed
The video above gives a tutorial how to make Mitarashi Dango. If any of guys know where in Houston they sell Dango let me know XD . I really want to try.
Thank you!

Sushi

Photo curtsy of stock.xchng.com
LOVE LOVE LOVE Sushi! That is what I basically ate this whole weekend, This dish is originated from japan that consists of raw fish and white stick rice. Here in America you have choice whether or not you want raw fish or cook fish which is goood, Sushi is served with ginger and wasabi. Various people under estimate the spiceness of wasabi, they beleive that i is not that bad. It is a rude awakening when your mouth is on fire
I recommend that people should try sushi especially on the weekends during happy hour with a group of friends.

Curry so yummy in the tummy

Curry is a diverse in every culture in how it is made. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture of curry, however I guarantee that it is fantastic to eat. The origin of curry comes from Southern and Southern eastern Asia. It has a variety of spices and come in a variety:
  1. 1.Meat
  2. 2. Chicken
  3. 3.fish
  4. selfish
  5. all the above with vegetables
  6. entirely vegetarian
You can also decided from dry or wet curry. Dry curry is cooked with very little liquid and leaves the ingredients coated with the spice mixture. Wet curry contains significant amounts of sauce or gravy. I believe that I had wet curry and it was fantastic!
Try both wet and dry curry and hopefully you will love it!
